Beekeepers are buzzing about Google

Some time ago we were approached by the Czech Beekeepers Union, as the organisation had long been struggling with its members' mailboxes. The mailbox administrator was unable to provide filtering of unsolicited mail, known as SPAM. The members' mailboxes were filling up with unsolicited mail, and at the same time other providers were marking the members' outgoing e-mails as SPAM.

For an organisation of 50 thousand members, flawless communication is absolutely essential. Until recently, the most reliable communication tool for the association was a traditional letter in an envelope, but that entails considerable costs.

We introduced the beekeepers to the Google for NON-profit solution, which includes a Google mailbox for every user. Not only does Gmail have the best anti-spam filters in the world, it also includes many other services that make communication easier for the beekeepers. And, as a non-profit organisation, the beekeepers' association has the Google for NON-profit service completely free of charge.

The association began using not only the mailboxes mentioned above, but also shared documents for meeting minutes. Everyone involved can see what is being written in the document and can respond to it directly using the comments feature. Or they can assign a task directly to the group that will be in charge of it. A notification about the task arrives straight in the mailboxes of the members of the selected group.
